The Inspectorate-General acts to prevent, prohibit and combat discrimination based on racial and ethnic origin, colour, nationality, descent and territory of origin (Law No 93/2017 of 23 August 2017) and discrimination based on disability and the existence of an aggravated health risk (Law No 46/2006 of 28 August 2006). It also ensures compliance with the rules on priority care (DL No 58/2016 of 29 August 2016).
